Somagouda Patil (SJPN Trust's Polytechnic, Nidasoshi)
Somagouda became frustrated because the college campus had become dirty, littered with waste, and had therefore become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. So, he took initiative to clean the campus. After receiving permission from the principal and some help from Smt. J.R. Patil, Somagouda formed a team of other students and together they cleaned the main building, the PUC building, hostels, and other college grounds.
Somagouda says that success for this project is owed to the fact that "everyone took equal participation." Somagouda is now planning to expand this project to cleaning a nearby village.
