Davangere LEADers Use Art to Make the Old Bus Stand Beautiful

Posted on Tuesday, August 06, 2013 by LEAD

The Old Bus Stand in Davangere was dirty and polluted. With the slogan of Basaveswara, "Kayaka vee kailas" ("Find God in work") in mind, LEADer Shruti S decided to take action. On August 2, 2013, Shruti  and her team decorated the Old Bus Stand in Davangere with colorful paintings.

This initiative gave the LEADers a unique opportunity to improve their community, create awareness, and practice their creativity.  Students raised funds from local shop owners and bus passengers to carry out the project. To further create awareness about the importance of cleanliness in public spaces, students made announcements to passengers inside buses.
Sri Surendra Mohile (Municipal Corporate, 22nd Ward) and Sri Anand (Press Representative, Vijaya Karnataka) also visited the project.

Special recognition goes to Kavyarani and Deepika for their tremendous dedication to the project.
