Drug Awareness Rally Attracts More Than 200 Students

Posted on Monday, August 26, 2013 by LEAD

LEADers Nikita and Sahana initially thought to plan drug awareness programs in colleges.  After some more thought and consideration, though, they came to the conclusion that a rally might create more impact.  Nikita and Sahana went to the D.C. office of Karwar to get permission to carry on with their project.  Even though the D.C. rejected their plan the first two times, Nikita and Sahana persevered until he granted them permission to conduct a rally.

The LEADers then approached three colleges-Govt PU College, Govt. Arts and Science College, and Shivaji College- to get the Principals' permission and gather students for the rally.  Nikita and Sahana also visited the civil hospital and met with the anti-drug committee and arranged for them to interact with the students following the rally.

The Drug Awareness Rally was conducted on July 24th at 9 AM and attracted over 200 students.  Nikita and Sahana commented that through this project, they got great practical experience in people management.  Furthermore, the public appreciated them on their initiative.
