LEAD6 Kickoff with Ronnie Screwvala, Zarina Mehta Screwvala, and Gururaj Deshpande

We are proud and happy to announce that LEAD6 Kickoff will be taking place on August 5th to celebrate the LEAD5 accomplishments and to get ready for an exciting new year in LEAD.
This year, LEAD6 will be launching in a bigger, better way. To really drive our students to reach their leadership potential in LEAD6, Ronnie Screwvala, Gururaj Deshpande, and Jaishree Deshpande, will be joining us as inspiring Guests of Honor on this momentous ocassion.
Ronnie Screwvala
Ronnie Screwvala is an entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the Founder and CEO of UTV Group, as well as the Managing Director of Disney-UTV India. He is credited with having produced some of India’s greatest and most successful modern films. His extensive film production history includes major titles such as Kai Po Che, ABCD, Barfi, Chillar Party, Rang De Basanti, Swades, and more. Time Magazine ranked him as 78 out of the 100 most influential people in the world.
His successes extend beyond entrepreneurship and fantastic film production. As an avid philanthropist, he serves as Managing Trustee of the Swades Foundation (previously under his former brand name SHARE-Society to Heal Aid Restore Educate). The Foundation works towards supporting rural development in Maharastra.
Zarina Mehta Screwvala
Zarina Screwvala the Co-Founder of the Swades Foundation & works full time as its Managing Trustee.
Zarina is also one of the three Founder-Directors of UTV. Zarina also oversaw the creation and launch of Astro Ceria (the #1 children's Channel in Indonesia & Malaysia). Zarina has producted television shows in multiple languages for every major broadcaster; including Shanti (India's first daily soap), Snakes and Ladders (India's first Game Show) and other cult shows like Hip Hip Hurray, Saaya, Shararath & Emotional Athyachar.
Zarina has been featured in Business Today's "Most Powerful Women in Indian Business" list for the last three years and is on the Advisory Board of the Asia Society and W.I.F.T. India.
Gururaj Deshpande
Gururaj Deshpande is a venture capitalist and entrepreneur. He is the Co-Founder of Sycamore Networks (an internet equipment manufacturer), the Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation at MIT, and the Deshpande Foundation. Currently, he is Chairman of A123Systems, Sycamore Networks, TejasNetworks, HiveFire, Sandstone Capital, and Sparta Group. He is Co-Chairman to President Barack Obama’s National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Jaishree Deshpande
Jaishree Deshpande is a Co-Founder of the Deshpande Foundation. Presently, she is Treasurer of Sparta Group. She serves as Trustee for the Museum of Science and is involved with Hestia Fund, an organization that aims to improve the lives of low-income women and children in Boston, US. In the past, she worked for the Indian Space Research Organization in Bangalore. rds enhancing rural development in Maharastra.
