LEAD Prayana 2016: A Quick Recap!
Posted on Tuesday, February 09, 2016 by LEAD
From January 24th to February 7th, a total of 132 students from 5 states went on a leadership
journey across Karnataka and Telangana. 2400 kilometers in three buses and visiting twelve
cities in total, this journey helped the students unleash their leadership potential through site
visits, role model sessions, community activities, and all the challenges and fun times along the
way.
This year, LEAD Prayana has two start points: Belagavi, Karnataka and Nizamabad, Telangana. After several days as separate journeys, the two groups met in Bengaluru to complete the journey together and help the students build networks across the country.
Some of the highlights of the journey were the two night stay at Agastya Foundation in Kuppam, an interactive and highly entertaining session with IAS officer Mr. P. Mannivannan at Bengaluru, a visit to the vast Infosys campus in Mysuru, and the cornerstone event, 6th Yuva Summit in Hubballi, featuring Ms. Anousheh Ansari, Mr, Narayana Murthy, Ms. Malathi Holla, Mr. Shekhar Gupta, and Prof. Muhammad Yunus.
Overall, the journey was a huge success. The role models were inspiring, friends were made, communities were impacted, and any challenges were overcome. Check out a few of our favourite moments from the journey below, and look out for more detailed descriptions of what the 2016 Prayanees got up to in the coming weeks!
