Mr. Naveen Jha had a vision to shore up the youth power which had remarkable prospective. He could design a tool to showcase the young and indigenous flair giving them the freedom of thought, speech and action which let the students add their own essenceof thinking and pave way for better working capabilities.

The journey began with Deshpande Foundation’s host college BVBCET. The LEAD team initially, toiled hard with presentations, orientation sessions which were fruitful and showed results with increasing number of LEADers participating in the program. A LEADer is the person who is capable of standing out of the crowd and represents the spirit of leading the crowd. The chief motto of the program is to enable the students soar higher and reach heights of entrepreneurial requisites.
It was a tough task in a country like India to change the mind sets of students where Bookish knowledge is(was) considered as the only way out to success, now it’s the time for change. In a span less than 6 months, LEAD program had 217 LEADers working on 240 different projects involving 20 colleges from north karnataka region.
The credit of making this community and student welfare program happen goes to the program managers and the person who stood by us, the director of DCSE Mr. Naveen Jha.Students under the LEAD program, are free to modify their ideas and work on the same. The program is designed to work with practicality rather than conceptuality alone, interaction with local community, meeting people from different walks of life forms the other part. There are several instances in the form of projects which reflect the rate of success of the Program. Students themselves have achieved greater heights with their hard work and proved themselves as a amenders in the society.

After a period of work on projects and seeing LEADers achieve, it was time for rewards. Therefore LEAD structured a mega event “LEAD MELA” where more than 100 LEADers exhibited their projects to delegates who visited from different countries of the world. Best five LEADers were awarded based on their outstanding performance, scholarships were awarded taking into account the optimism and the high spirits of LEADership.
