Gulbarga LEADer approaches MLA to Sanction Rs. 5 lakh for Construction of Drainage System

Posted on Saturday, February 15, 2014 by LEAD

LEADer Sangmesh Parit of NV Degree College, Gulbarga identified a lack of proper drainage in a slum area of Gulbarga.  In this particular area there was no open drainage system.  Sangmesh had always wanted to do something to solve this problem, but he never felt he had the right platform to take action.  After joining LEAD, he got his chance.  He organized a meeting with the residents and, with their support, he approached the MLA, made them aware of the problem, and demanded that they help implement a solution.  The government has allotted Rs. 5 lakh for the construction of an open drainage system.

For the success of his project, Sangmesh received the "Best LEADer" award at Yuva Summit 2014.
