LEADer Laxmi organised a seminar on Women Empowerment for Socio-Economic Development

On March 8th, 2014 one Day Seminar was organized on “Women Empowerment for Socio- Economic Development” at Aptech Computers, at Jamakhandi Campus. The seminar commenced with the distribution of roses for each woman, by Ms. Rajeshwari D.C, (Personality Development trainer) and function began with invocation to Goddess Saraswati. LEAD student Kumari Laxmi S Teli, welcomed participants from different organizations, colleges. Guest speaker said that the Seminar rightfully celebrated the empowerment of women.


She said “In reality, when women achieve, increase, control and participate in decision making, it leads to their better access to resources, and therefore, improved socio-economic status. She also highlighted that the significance on the gender issues hold that women’s advancement which also involves the process of empowerment and define it as a process, by which women achieve, increase and control over public decision making.

The Seminar had two penal; First panel discussion was on the theme “Women Empowerment for Entrepreneurship Development” & “Women Empowerment for Socio- Economic Development”. In the second panel guest showed the videos about the achievements of women’s Role in the 21st century, and we (LEAD students) honored them by presenting a memento.
The seminar was concluded with the vote of thanks and the distribution of tea.
