LEader Lingam Shankar from Indur Institute of Technology and Science has taken an initiative for Collecting and donating the Stationary, Books and Plates to School Children. This has been implemented at Govt. School Polasa, Siddipet, The out come of this initiative was remarkable and numerous students around 2000 of the school were benefited by this action.

Leader cites that: I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion about the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. - Benjamin Franklin

LEader Shankar was concerned about the rural school children. He feels empathy for them. He is determined to aid the poor children. The further step taken by the leader is to form a group of nine members and reach the rural school children. The leader found ‘Govt. School Polasa, Siddipet’ and started the movement.
The entire team worked hard in spreading the awareness on education. The team has raised a fund and collected amount from the people for the project. The amount has been used for purchasing the stationary viz. books and pens. They have assembled twelve hundred books & one hundred and twenty plates. The entire books and stationary has been donated to the school children. The School Head Master & Principal both have appreciated the team. People also recognized the spirit of the LEader Shankar and his team.

The challenges faced during the action period were educating the local people regarding the project and coordinating own team members. The most memorable experience with this initiative is the help that has been provided by the local people. People participation with the leader and team members catalyzed the initiative.

The LEader Shankar and his team members have understood the Cohesiveness, Management and Leadership Skills from this initiative. He also thinks that this task should be carried forward and spread to all rural areas of the state.

LEader Shankar and his team are happy with their initiative and thankful to LEAD for imparting a platform for their ideas. The only concern the leader have now is to take this initiative to greater impact.
