LEAD Bijapur Valedictory 2010

Geetha Bali Naveen Jha and Jigjini innougurating the programLEAD Bijapur celebrated its first annual ceremony “LEAD Bijapur Valedictory 2010”.
Dr. Geetha Bali - Vice Chancellor, KSWU; Professor Sateesh S. Jigjini - Vice Chancellor, BLDE University; Mr. Naveen Jha, - Director, Dehpande Foundation; and Dr. Arwikar - Principal, Dr. P.G.H. Engineering College honored the LEAD Bijapur Valedictory ceremony as chief guests. Professor Geetha Bali encouraged young girls to utilize LEAD in making changes in the society. It was an event to felicitate the best leaders, a time to remember the best moments, and an occasion to network with the people for all the invitees and LEAD students.

Students from almost all LEADer givingb a momento to Prof. Geetha Balithe colleges of Bijapur and faculties participated in this program, held in the 
S.B. Hall at BLDEA’s Dr. PGH Engineering College, on 28 April. All the LEADers showcased their projects in the open “LEAD project exhibition” to all the invitees and students. Four LEADers were awarded by the main guests on this event for their achievements and creative initiatives.

Mr. Shashank from Chetana Education Society
was awarded “
Best event of the year” for his achievements conducting a three days recreation activity like dance, drama, motivational videos with the prisoners of district jail, Bijapur so that they can try to rectify their mistakes and work sincerely in the favor of society.






Sachin G. receiving award from Naveen jha at lead valedictory,bijapurMr. Sachin Gadashetty from SECAB Engineering college was awarded  “Best Booming Leader”. He has done two projects, a "Mega-blood donation and eye donation registration camp" in his college and "Fitting metal plates around coconut trees to protect them from squirrels", which saved around 600 coconut fruits.

Mr. Veeresh Thalange from KCP science and SB Arts College was awarded “Best project”. He taught general English and etiquette to 60 kids of Takki-situated juvenile home, where he took 30 days teaching special classes to kids.








Mr. Vijay Mahantesh from KCP science and SB arts college got the “Best commited Leader of the year” award.













Mr. Ajay Suman, Program Manager, LEAD, included in his introductory speech that 140 projects have been taken from the students in the Bijapur district. Projects focused on issues of education, health, technology, environment, and natural resources. This January out of 4000 students 4 Leaders were awarded from LEAD Bijapur in the international gathering ‘LEAD MELA 2010’ organized at Hubli.
In the closing remarks Chief guest Geetha Bali encouraged young girls to come forward in taking the initiative. Dr. Sateesh Jigjini appreciated all the students for their thinking outside the box approaches and making difference in the society. Mr. Naveen Jha addressed all the students to make the best use of LEAD platform to explore leadership skills, making their own identification in the society and build up a vast network with people. Mr. Uttam M. Kinage, Director, BLDE, MBA; Prof. M.U. Nagaral and Dr. S.J. Goudar, Principal, BLDE Polytechnic were also present at this occasion .
